A curious and driven Advertising & Marketing Communications graduate with a year’s experience in the industry, currently working as an Account Executive at digital agency STEEL London. During this time I have learnt to confidently manage the process from client briefing to final production, working closely with the creative team to ensure all material achieves objectives, constantly managing client expectations, while putting my organisational skills and eye for detail to the test. As well as learning procedure I have gained a strong understanding of digital marketing channels such as eCRM, online advertising, social media and much more.
ADVERTISING & MARKETING RELATED EXPERIENCE
May 2011 – Present STEEL London|Account Executive
- Situated permanently on the Debenhams digital account, I have learnt so much about both the difficult retail environment during the economic recession, coupled with the overall strategy behind the marketing channels (more specifically digital channels) in order to still effectively turn a profit and maintain great ROI/ROR.
- Specifically I deal with the digital channels eCRM, Social Media, Online Advertising and Content Management Systems. A typical day will involve me progressing jobs across all of these channels, while keeping on top of important admin (finance, individual job files, creative archiving, status reports etc.), micro-managing an admin assistant, organising the designers/developers time and all while being able to take on any reactive briefs or last minute support requests from clients.
- Overall this is a very challenging role which requires me to give full support to my Account Manager and team, the main skills required are organisation, multi-tasking and having excellent attention to detail.
March 2011 – May 2011 Sowden & Sowden|(Temping) Admin/Junior Account Executive
- Part project managing a new launch service for Hull College; involving writing and implementing a complex and detailed media plan.
- My tasks were to plan and buy the media according the plan; the most part I dealt with was press advertising and microsite building. Other skills included client liaison and working with art workers to complete all material to the best standard possible while keeping to tight deadlines.
- Involved in organising a huge Fashion Week Finale event for Hull BID including; organising promotional events and material, corresponding with local business to encourage involvement and proposed to them possible sponsorship opportunities plus much more.
- Generally providing administrative support for the agency, copy checking, obtaining media information (quotes etc.), inputting and clarifying all timesheets and carrying out any further tasks that were needed of me.
June 2009 – August 2009 Mediacom London|University Placement
- Placed in a new department ‘MBA’ namely covering planning digital and social media marketing.Duties were vast including; research reports, presentations, idea bounties, meeting with clients, conversing with media owners, competitive reviews. Additional tasks involved general administration and research using Comscore.com and TGInet.
- Regarding Social Media I worked on a variety of brands; T-Mobile, IKEA Dublin and was also responsible for posting for the Mars Facebook page, controlling and monitoring content and also measuring the impact of these posts.
- During my time at Mediacom I conducted a large piece of research across all MBA’s clients: my ‘Social Media Review’ involved comparing the top competitors of each of their SM clients and SM activity over Facebook, Twitter & YouTube platforms and putting this into a presentation format for later use.
